How to handle used batteries correctly

/
Battery Disposal Law

Batteries and rechargeable batteries contain both valuable resources and harmful substances. In accordance with § 18 para. 1 Battery law the seller points out that the customer as the end user is legally obliged to return used batteries. The Battery Disposal Act also applies to batteries that are installed in or enclosed with products.

Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with residual waste.

We would like to point out that anyone else who sells batteries to end users as a distributor is also obliged to take back batteries free of charge from the end user at the point of sale or in the immediate vicinity or in the dispatch warehouse (in the case of online retailers). The take-back obligation is limited to used batteries of the type that the distributor carries or has carried as new batteries in his range and to the quantity that end users usually dispose of.
